Don't Exercise, Just Change Your Bed skirt...

Putting on a bed skirt is pretty darn exhausting!  Like work up a sweat exhausting.  If you changed it 3 times a week, I am pretty sure it would qualify as a weekly workout routine.  While you're at it, you can change the fitted crib sheet too, that is, if you have an infant...geez, those things are tight on the mattress!  I suppose for good reason though.  By the way, I've seen the bed skirts that velcro on/off for easy removal, but they are kinda pricey in my opinion, and I guess I would rather suffer than spend the extra money.

I bought a white, ruffled Rachel Ashwell Simply Shabby Chic bed skirt from Target today, for which is the inspiration for this post.  I've purchased many bed skirts over the years, and this one is my absolute favorite!  The fabric is really nice and the length is perfect.  It wasn't cheap at $45 for the queen size, but it does compare really well in quality to other designer bed skirts over $100, so I say it's worth the money!  I highly recommend it if you are in the market for a new bed skirt.

This is NOT my bedroom {though it sure is pretty}, but this is the bed skirt I got from...

I'll spare showing you my bedroom until I have made some more progress on it, but a little peak can be seen HERE.  Adding the bed skirt was a major improvement...even if it meant all the effort to get the darn thing on, and that includes the mattress falling on top of me at one point!

Stacey, this was great! I hate changing up the bedskirt...you need one person to hold up the mattress and one to try to get that darn thing on!!!LOL

Oh, and I love Target and Rachel Ashwell!!! great post.

I hear you. And that is why my bed skirts don't get washed often enough!

I could use a new one. This one is really pretty. Is it white or more cream? It is such a pain changing them. I have to wash mine as the dog likes to rub up against it like a cat and it leave a nice dirty streak after awhile! UGH!

LOL! Yes, I'd say that heaving a mattress around is a workout! :-) But worth it! It is a pretty bedskirt!!

I would have to agree with you on that one!! We have a king size bed and holy moly I about died trying to put a skirt on that thing!!! I hope you were able to get it on and I can't wait to see it! :)

Hi Stacey! I love pretty bed skirts, but hate putting them on. I fight with the mattress too ~ and Bentley loves to hop on top of the mattress while I'm doing it and thinks it is great fun. From now on I'll just consider it part of my workout routine. You are doing such a great job feathering your nest!!

Love,
Susan and Bentley

okay ... where was i? love the bed skirt (and photo = gasp). so funny about how challenging they can be (crib sheets, too).

your bedroom is adorable and has a great wall filled with possibilities.

i remember carter's crib sheets and pottery barn kids (on clearance) having deep pockets - a bit easier.

I completely agree with you. I have a latex mattress and it requires monumental effort to change the bedskirt.

Find a bedskirt you like, and leave it on! Even if your side is long and hubby's side is a mini bedskirt ;-) Yours is lovely!

I want one! My mattresses are so high up, it probably won't be long enough but I'm going to check it out. Thanks for sharing!

Of course the bedroom is super cute with the colors you've chosen. I decorated my bedroom with some pretty inexpensive art I found at allposters.com They even had these really awesome birds print I loved in the Ballard Designs catalog that were like over $100 for the set, and I found them on there for $9.95 each, then with simple white frames, I think the set cost me $40 total, instead of the over $100 on Ballards. If you find prints you like in "those" catalogs, a lot of time they publish the artist and you can look on allposters.com to see if they have it.

LOL! I have the same problem with the bedskirts. The mattress and I usually have it out! SO, no changing very often for me...

Popping in from White Wednesday! I just got a new comforter and shams from RA's Simply Shabby line and I love love love it! But I still had my old dust ruffle so I ordered a white one from Amazon that actually slips around the bed, not under the mattress. I'm not exactly sure how it works as it hasn't arrived yet but it had great reviews!!! The one you pictured is lovely too:)
