Style Series No. 2 - Beachy and Beautiful

I want a Beach Cottage.  I live in the Midwest, where the winter's are cold, harsh, and very, very long!  Every winter I dream I live somewhere warm and tropical, overlooking a brilliant blue sea.  I would have a sweet little house near or on the shore, decked out in vintage, beachy, coastal charm, much like this...

{happy, stripe-y comfort}

{vintage, coastal, cozy charming}

{would love to sit for a spell here...in the tub or chair!}

{sea foam green dreamy}

The outside of my dream beach cottage, I would love to look like this...

Or this...
{as cute as a button}

I sure wouldn't mind a view like this...

I would probably have to have some new beachy clothes to go with my cottage...

{even something to wear for the little one}

*Both above photos from the website for the store,
Beach House Style in California*

I would also need some way to get around my little beach town...
{this would do just fine}

Ah, but a dream is just that, a dream.  In my Beach Cottage reality, I am more likely to rent something lovely from...

Or I can always catch up on Coastal Style and Living from these Great Blogs...

I actually just now got back from a perfect little beach town on beautiful Tybee Island, GA! You describe this place exactly...actually the blue house looks just like our neighboring cottage!?!! We even rented bikes there to ride...I say all of this b/c if you are wanting to visit a place as you describe, please check out Tybee!!
(Btw, I'm from Kentucky so I totally understand!) :)

Fun inspiration pics. I heart coastal cottage style. It's one of my favorites, outside of Cottage/Farmhouse. How could you not smile in any of these rooms?! Love love love the blogs you shared, as well. Talented gals :D

If you get a house like that, especially on Lake Michigan... I'M MOVIN' IN WITH YA! and of course, vice versa!! :)

I love the happy stripe! Coastal decor with a pop of bright lime green.

I would love to have the view too!

me too! me too! oooooh wouldn't a beachy cottage be incredible? but i'd be so dang lazy. when we vacation at the beach, we stay grubby and sandy like surfers all day then freshen up for dinner. can you imagine living like that daily? and the seabreeze! it's my favorite and always so good for my health.

thanks for this beachy rendezvous, Stacey!

i think you can make a little beach cottage anywhere you like. look at tracey from french larkspur with her wonderful french farmhouse style in the prairie of illinois.

{if you can dream it, you can paint it, and make it so!}

Hi Stacey. I just found your blog thru Cozy Little House and wanted to say hello. Your pics are wonderful!! I, too, want to have a beach house every time I go to our local Christmas Tree Shoppe. It's filled with lots of beachy decor this time of the year and I want to buy it all!!!! I look forward to reading your past posts. Take care. : )

Loved every single photo. I am a lover of blue and white from WAAAY Back...so of course I enjoyed visiting here. Thanks for sharing it all with Kathleen. I especially love the screen door in the kitchen, that has ALWAYS been a "one day" vision for me. Hope I get to make it a reality some day!

Oh yes....another real cottage style lover from the midwest!! Hello sista...
I've loved cottage style for many years...but did sway a little to primitive.(gasp) until recently I've realized that Cottage is my true love and always will be. I learned that when you walk into your home...you should smile. :)

Great to find your blog!!

Oh yes......I'm with ya, girl! My heart may belong in this old farmhouse, but the sea has certainly stolen my soul - completely and totally! ♥ Someday I WILL escape these miserable mid-west winters and springs and I'll be soaking up some Vitamin D in Florida!!!!!! :) Loved your photos and I'd be happy living in any of them! lol!

This all looks so charmingly coastal...I guess I shouldn't take for granite that we live pretty close to the beach... but still, I'd love it if you could distinguish between seasons like in the East Coast...you know, so you know fall is fall and spring is spring...lol we could trade for a season. lol I've only been to Chicago once when our plane stopped there briefly from a trip to NYC from CA. I just remembered it being sooo cold!

>granted<...see, I have kitchen "granite" on my mind! lol
